The Center for Disability Services is a leading organization committed to providing essential services to children and adults with disabilities hosted a visit from United States Congresswoman Lauren Underwood this week. The visit was an opportunity for Congresswoman Underwood to learn firsthand the impactful work being carried out by the agency, as well as engage with staff members and the individuals benefiting from their services in Joliet.
During her visit, Congresswoman Underwood toured the Community Day Services Program for adults and the Melvin J. Larson Therapeutic Day School at UCP – Center for Disability Services. The Congresswoman interacted with the team of professionals who work to enhance the lives of those they serve. The congresswoman had the opportunity to meet individuals whose lives have been positively transformed through the many programs and initiatives provided by UCP – Center for Disability Services.
“The work being done at UCP –Center for Disability Services is vital in addressing the pressing needs of the members in our community,” the Congresswoman commented. She continued that she was impressed with the comprehensive range of services offered, from center-based services to work with individuals in their homes and communities.

In her remarks, Congresswoman Underwood highlighted the importance of partnerships between government entities and community-based organizations like UCP – Center for Disability Services to effectively meet the collective needs of our society.
