Experience Stargazing at Heritage Park and celebrate the International Dark Sky recognition of the Village of Homer Glen by spending an evening with the stars.
Telescope Viewing 7:30-10 PM with the Kankakee Area Stargazers, the Naperville Astronomical Association, and the Southwest Astronomy Observers Group, amateur astronomers from these groups will have their large telescopes available for free viewing.
Viewing will start when it is dark. This part of the event is weather dependent.
Incredible Bats-in the Village Hall Community Room at 7:30-9:30 PM
Sharon and Dan of Incredible Bats have been promoting bat education in the Midwest since 1996. Their goal as bat educators is to inform people about the many benefits of bats. Stop by the Community Room during Stargazing and meet bats and other nocturnal creatures (fox, armadillo, hedgehog, and more) This portion of the event is rain or shine.
Heritage Park – 14240 W. 151st Street, Homer Glen Stargazing is located on the east side of the park along Heritage Circle Drive. Parking is available in front of Village Hall and on the west side of the park (near the library).
