Relive the magic of rock and roll from Elvis to Elton John, and a whole ton in between! Billie Limacher Bicentennial Park and Theatre is excited to present the virtuoso singer and guitarist Skip Griparis in his 50’s, 60’s & 70’s “Heroes of Rock” on Friday, February 21, at 7:30 pm.

With acoustic guitar in hand, Skip invites everyone to take a high-energy trip through rock’s evolution with fun stories and big hits from rockabilly to R&B and beyond. Skip has many “I bet you didn’t know…” stories to tell. “He has quite a few, even for those that have seen Skip’s shows before, Skip finds the fun stories he hasn’t shared before. Skip’s quick wit, uncanny impressions and so many musical stylings, he does a great tribute to all these rock ‘n roll legends,” smiles Lori Carmine (Park Manager, Joliet Cultural Affairs Manager and Joliet Event Liaison).

A man of many talents, Skip was inducted into the Illinois Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with Chicago’s New Colony Six, as he was their lead singer and guitarist. Skip has headlined for comedy clubs across the U.S. for 25 years, and he played Monte the Colorman in two hit films, Major League I and II. In 1975, Skip was recruited to sing and play in the Olivia Newton-John Band at the height of her world stardom. He toured the world with her for four years.

Tickets are $20.00 for the all-ages show held in the indoor theatre. Enjoy the “Skip Special” with 4 tickets for $60. Tickets are available online (no extra fee), in the office or at the door.  The lobby opens at 6:30 pm for tickets, cash bar, concessions and Skip merchandise available for purchase.

Free parking is available north and south of the building. Additional parking is available south of Jefferson Street.
