A bill was introduced to the Illinois Senate that mandates routing trains that carry hazardous materials away from schools. This seems a no-brainer but as is usual, big corporations don´t want common sense solutions to glaring problems because it will cost them money. Big corporations value money, not people. Which rails are carrying hazmat is a matter of secrecy so that the trains are not sabotaged. (Signal chat anyone?)

A big fish-eating little fish (PAC-man) game has been going on around the country. In Joliet, the Elgin, Joliet, & Eastern (EJ&E), a class II railway, is the prime example of this game. EJ&E ran a circle path to Waukegan and Gary, IN mostly serving suburban industries and farm co-ops. Now Canadian National owns the tracks, but they don´t want to serve smaller suburban industries and rural farm stops. They only want the high dollar markets of other big corporate monopolies. This means trucking has to pick up the slack for smaller industries and rural farms cooperatives since the trains don´t serve them anymore. Problem is that the same PAC-man game is being played in the trucking industry.

There are big problem folks. We have to take back our country – for real this time.
