Bolingbrook ranks 210th on U.S. News and World Report’s list of 2025-2026 top 250 Best Places to Live in the country.
No Illinois community cracked the top 50 spot, with Arlington Heights ranking the closest at No. 56, Buffalo Grove, ranked at No. 63, and Naperville, ranked at No. 73.
Cities were evaluated using data from U.S. News’ internal resources and Applied Geographic Solutions (AGS) developed from both private and government sources.
The data was split into five categories and evaluated using a methodology determined by a public survey in which people from across the country voted for what they believed were the most important factors to consider when choosing where to live, according to the report.
The five categories each encompass a variety of factors that determine their score, such as quality of life; value index which measures how comfortably the average person can afford to live within their means; desirability index that measures characteristics that contribute to overall resident satisfaction and impact on immediate day-to-day living; job market conditions; and net migration, which measures whether people are moving to or away from each location.
Anna Bacerra, a lifelong resident of Bolingbrook said she is not surprised her hometown made the list.
“It is a great place to raise a family,” said the mother of two. “This is a truly diverse community and not a boring, cookie-cutter suburb.” The Village of Bolingbrook has a population of 74,088 as of 2023.
