State Rep. Natalie Manley, D-Joliet, and state Sen. Meg Loughran Cappel, D-Shorewood, are inviting local families to participate in their Annual Back to School Fair. The free event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Joliet West High School, in the cafeteria, located at 401 N. Larkin Ave. in Joliet.

Loughran Cappel and Manley will be joined by community partners who will provide resources and supplies for students to use when they return to the classroom. Students in attendance can receive free school supplies at the fair and learn about a number of services offered by organizations in the community.

“I’m proud to announce our annual Back to School Fair and to provide essential supplies to our community’s students. This event isn’t just about giveaways—it’s also about coming together as a community to connect families with vital services.” stated Manley.

Over 50 businesses, organizations and non-profits will be handing out giveaways and/or informing families of their services, including Will County, the Spanish Community Center, the Joliet YMCA, After The Peanut, libraries, and many local social service organizations.

Outside, families can interact with the Joliet Fire Department Touch-a-Truck. YMCA Junior Wolves Dance Team will perform at 11:00am and Synergy Competitive Junior Cheer will perform at 12:00pm. “We want our Back-to-School Fair to alleviate some of the stress common to so many parents and children as they head back to school the following month,” said Manley.
