The History on Wheels Museum invites the community to their Thanksgiving Turkey Dinner Giveaway, an event dedicated to showing thankfulness to veteran families.

The giveaway is Saturday from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the African Descendants Military and Historical Museum Powered by the History on Wheels Museum, 575 E. Jackson Street, Joliet, IL.

This year, 100 veteran families will receive a full Thanksgiving dinner package, including a turkey and five side dishes, on a first-come, first-served basis. The event reflects History on Wheels’ continued commitment to honoring service, building community, and giving back to those who have sacrificed of themselves to serve.

“This event is about more than providing food—it’s about showing gratitude and unity,” said Luther Johnson, Founder and President of History on Wheels. “Our veterans have given so much, and this is one way we can come together to serve them in return.”

The African Descendants Military and Historical Museum (ADMHM), currently being developed by History on Wheels at the historic Casseday House in Joliet, will also be represented at the event. The museum is dedicated to preserving the legacy and contributions of African American service members throughout U.S. history.

The community is invited to support the event through donations to help cover side dishes and desserts. Contributions can be made securely online via Zeffy at:
