John Noak, Mayor of Romeoville IL

     The Metropolitan Mayors Caucus with a unanimous vote, elected John D. Noak, Mayor of the Village of Romeoville, as the next Chair of its Executive Board. 

The Caucus is a regional coalition representing 275 cities, towns, and villages across northeastern Illinois, working collaboratively on public policy issues that impact the entire region.

Mayor Noak brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having previously served as the organization’s 2nd Vice Chair and Secretary. The mayor additionally serves as the President of the Will County Governmental League and as a board member of both the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning and Pace.

Joining Mayor Noak as the 2025–2026 officers of the Metropolitan Mayors Caucus are:

•                     Mayor Brandon Johnson, City of Chicago – 1st Vice Chair 

•                     Mayor Donald “Donny” Schmit Jr., Village of Fox Lake – 2nd Vice Chair 

•                     Mayor Richard P. Reinbold, Village of Richton Park – Secretary 

•                     Mayor Mark R. Kownick, Village of Cary – Treasurer 

•                     Mayor Nancy R. Rotering, City of Highland Park – Immediate Past Chair 

“Mayor Noak and each of the officers will provide wonderful leadership to the Mayors Caucus,” said Neil James, Executive Director of the Metropolitan Mayors Caucus. “They all have extensive local government experience, a passion for the work, and a strong network of relationships not only in our region but throughout the entire state.”

“The Metropolitan Mayors Caucus continues to be the leading voice of all two hundred and seventy-five municipalities in the Chicagoland region,” said Mayor Noak. “While each member community has its own unique characteristics, we work together as one organization to advance important regional initiatives and advocate for local governments.”

The Metropolitan Mayors Caucus was founded in 1997.
