The Village of Plainfield adds two new businesses to the Route 59 Corridor. “We could not be more excited about welcoming the very first Zaxbys to Illinois and 7 Brew – an innovative coffee venue. Plainfield continues to attract new, popular fast-casual options for our residents,” Mayor Argoudelis said.

Zaxbys, a southern fast-casual restaurant, purchased the former Slim Chickens restaurant at 135th Street and Route 59.  With over 970 locations across 17 states, Zaxbys specializes in chicken fingers, wings, sandwiches, and salads. The Plainfield site is expected to be the first location in Illinois to open.  Remodeling work is under way and Zaxbys is expected to open this winter.

The Village Board approved 7 Brew Coffee which is known for their popular specialty coffees, shakes, smoothies, teas, and lemonades. They will be redeveloping the former Chili’s site located in the Target shopping center at 127th Street and Route 59. Due to the traffic challenges in other communities, Plainfield’s 7 Brew Drive-Thru site is twice the size of other locations, and they have created space for cars to stack on-site that will assist with traffic flow.  The developer will be working on engineering over the winter, and they hope to begin construction in the spring of 2026.
