Tickets and sponsorships are now available for Joyful Brunch 2026, a celebration honoring the life and legacy of the late Michael Austin Clark. The event supports two initiatives stemming from Mike’s commitment to service, education and athletics: the MAC Mentoring Program and the Michael Austin Clark JTHS Athletic Boosters Endowed Scholarship.
The Joyful Brunch 2026 is on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at the Renaissance Center in downtown Joliet, offering guests an elegant and immersive celebration from start to finish. The day begins with a Welcome Reception from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the foyer, where attendees will enjoy passed hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar, professional photography, and the smooth, soulful sounds of Ellis Wright in a refined setting designed for conversation and connection. At 1 p.m., guests will transition to the ballroom for the signature brunch experience, featuring a brunch and live performance by vocalist Joy Westbrook, whose unforgettable artistry elevated last year’s event. A cash bar and selfie station will be available throughout the afternoon, enhancing the celebratory atmosphere.
“This is more than a brunch – it’s a celebration of community, empowerment, and joy,” said Helen Hester Ross, Event Chair. “From the music to the message, every detail is designed to inspire and uplift while supporting causes that truly make a difference.”
Proceeds from the Joyful Brunch will benefit the MAC Mentoring Program and the Michael Austin Clark JTHS Endowed Athletic Boosters Scholarship. Together, these programs extend Mike’s legacy by providing young people with the tools, confidence and encouragement to thrive.
The MAC Mentoring Program, founded in Mike’s honor, provides guidance and enrichment for African American males in grades six through 10 across the Joliet area. It is led by his sister, Shelley Clark, who continues the work her brother began.
“Mike believed that every young person deserves someone in their corner; someone who sees their potential and won’t let them give up on themselves,” Shelley said. “Through MAC Mentoring, we’re not just honoring his memory; we’re building futures. The impact of mentorship can change a life, and that’s exactly what Mike wanted this program to do.”
The event also supports the Michael Austin Clark JTHS Endowed Athletic Boosters Scholarship, established in partnership with the JTHS Athletic Boosters, a 501(c)(3) volunteer organization that enhances the experience of Joliet Central and Joliet West student-athletes through fundraising and community support.
“Mike believed in the power of athletics to change lives,” said Tanya Rico, president of the JTHS Athletic Boosters. “Honoring him with a scholarship that recognizes leadership, perseverance and character is a fitting way to support a deserving student-athlete and carry his legacy forward.”
Tickets and sponsorships for Joyful Brunch 2026 are available now. All contributions are tax-deductible and directly benefit the two registered 501(c)(3) organizations.
