On Tuesday, February 10, Joliet Township High School will host its second community-wide event open to everyone, packed with valuable resources, fun, and learning opportunities for all! This interactive event will be held at Joliet West High School from 5 to 7 p.m. JTHS students will receive two hours of community service to attend one of our powerful workshops designed to equip students and families for college, careers, and beyond.
This free public event will once again feature a variety of valuable offerings, including a Job Fair, community and school club/activity resource tables, free haircuts provided by Midwest Barber Academy, food vendors, musical entertainment provided by the Joliet West Jazz Band, and interactive workshops. Free childcare is available for children who are preschool-aged and older. All children must be potty-trained.

From Applicant to Intern: Gain a Competitive Edge in Will County Summer Internship Program
Get ready to take the next step toward your future with the Will County Summer Internship Program. Through a partnership with the CED, nearly 100 paid summer internship opportunities are available to students in select Will County school districts, including JTHS. This program is designed to help students explore career paths, gain valuable resume-building experience, and develop meaningful connections within the community. The February 10 workshop is perfectly timed just days before the February 20 application deadline. Students will receive hands-on support with completing applications, polishing resumes, and preparing for interviews. Whether you are applying for your first internship or building on previous experience, this session will help you present yourself confidently and make a strong impression with potential employers.

Raising Confident and Resilient Adolescents: A Family Workshop for Life After High School
This family session provides practical guidance for parents seeking to foster self-efficacy in their adolescents, defined as the belief in one’s ability to succeed, while also supporting their mental health throughout high school and into adulthood. The workshop will provide strategies that families can implement at home to help adolescents manage stress, navigate setbacks, advocate for their needs, and maintain motivation as they prepare for post-secondary education, careers, and independent living. The session is interactive, supportive, and tailored to address the diverse challenges faced by families. Participants will receive practical tools, structured conversation prompts, and curated resources to enhance their adolescents’ sense of support, capability, and readiness for life after high school.
Building a Path After High School: Tools, Resources & SchooLinks for Families
Preparing for life after high school doesn’t have to be difficult if you know what steps to take. If you need help, or you are the first in your family to help your child explore college or other postsecondary options, we can provide you with key steps and tips to navigate this starting in 9th grade. You don’t have to do it alone! This presentation will provide families with clear, easy-to-use information about financial aid, scholarships, and resources to prepare your student for life after high school. You’ll leave with the confidence and tools to help your child succeed in their college or career journey. At the end of this session, we will log into the SchooLinks platform using the Guardian/Student view.

Dual Credit Courses: Making Post-Secondary Opportunities More Affordable
Taking dual credit courses in high school provides opportunities for students to earn college credits, save money, and build confidence in college readiness. Attend this session to learn more about dual credit classes, the process to enroll, and Joliet Junior College’s 12X12X12 program. This program provides students with the opportunity to save over $400 per college course!
