John Noak, Mayor of Romeoville IL

Mayor Noak has been reappointed to the National League of Cities (NLC) Transportation and Infrastructure Services Federal Advocacy Committee as well as the University Communities Council and the Council on Youth, Education, and Families. As a member of these groups, Mayor Noak will play a key role among a diverse group of local leaders to encourage collaboration, networking and the development of resources and programs beneficial to communities that share demographics, size or location that can be replicated across the country.

While serving on the Transportation and Infrastructure Services Federal Advocacy Committee, Mayor Noak will provide strategic direction and guidance for the National League of Cities’ federal advocacy agenda and police priorities including local access to transportation programs for roads, safety transit, rail, bridges, and more.

The University Communities Council aims to connect elected municipal officials from university communities and foster a spirit of cooperation between universities, colleges and local governments. The council is comprised of municipal officials from NLC member municipalities with an institution of higher education within their borders or within adjacent municipalities.

The Council on Youth, Education, and Families works to promote best practices that address the needs of children, youth, and families. They also provide the means for elected officials who are interested in these issues to network, learn, and support each other in their work.

“I am once again honored to be serving on multiple fronts and to bring advocacy directly to Romeoville and Will County as a whole,” said Mayor John Noak. “Public Service doesn’t stop at Romeoville’s borders and being a part of larger conversations with representatives from throughout the country will bring new ideas and positive changes to our community.”

“The National League of Cities’ federal advocacy committees are the voice of America’s 19,000 cities, towns, and villages to leaders in Washington,” said National League of Cities President Kevin Kramer, Councilmember of Louisville, Kentucky. “I am thrilled to work with Mayor Noak and look forward to supporting his goals and ideas as he helps to strengthen the partnership between local and federal leaders.”

In addition to his National League of Cities duties, Mayor Noak was elected as the Chair of the Executive Board of the Metropolitan Mayors Caucus back in November.
