Here’s the rundown of other races by Nikoel Hytrek: Croke leads Democratic comptroller race as downstate voters dominate GOP primaries

Secretary of State: Incumbent Alexi Giannoulias will face Diane Harris, who has served as an elected precinct committee member, vice chair of the Joliet Township Republicans and is the former chair of the Illinois Center Right Coalition.

Attorney General: We knew going into Tuesday AG Kwame Raoul would face perennial GOP candidate Bob Fioretti, as both ran uncontested.

Treasurer: The GOP didn’t have a candidate — on the ballot at least — vying for a spot to face incumbent Democrat Mike Frerichs. But if 5,000 Republican primary voters write in Max Solomon, he’ll earn the spot. Otherwise, it’ll be up to the state party to choose his opponent. We’ll follow that storyline in the coming days.

In the General Assembly, one key Republican lost her primary: Deputy Minority Leader Norine Hammond in the 94th District. Joshua Higgins, a challenger from the right, ousted the GOP’s lead budgeteer. And in the 40th House District on the Democratic side, moderate Dem Jaime Andrade lost to challenger Miguel Alvelo-Rivera.  We’ll have further analysis of the election as the dust settles.
