Zeb Zamoras

Joliet West High School student Zeb Zamoras has qualified for the state math competition after earning first place in the Algebra 2 event at the regional contest held on February 28 at Joliet Junior College.

This marks the third consecutive year Zamoras has advanced to the state level. The regional event, part of the Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics competition series, featured students from across the area competing in individual and team events in Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2 and Precalculus. Top finishers at regionals advance to the state finals.

The state math competition will be held April 18 at Illinois State University, where the top students from across Illinois will compete for statewide honors.
