For the first time ever, the Consorzio Alta Langa DOCG presented their distinctive wines in the United States. One of Italy’s most distinctive and elegant sparkling wine regions, 27 leading Alta Langa poured their wines and shared their story of this small yet extraordinary region.
Located in Piedmont, in northern Italy, Alta Langa holds a unique place in Italian wine history as the country’s first traditional-method sparkling wine designation.
Utilizing Pinot Nero and/or Chardonnay grapes, Alta Langa is always vintage and always exceptional.
In addition to the walk-around tasting, educational panel sessions offered an in-depth exploration of the winemaker’s craft. Hosted by Juliana Colangelo, wine marketing leader and host of Italian Wine Podcast, and featuring speakers Paolo Rossino, Director of the Consorzio, and Giovanna Bagnasco, part of the Board of the Consorzio the panel explored the rich history and tradition of the region.
The conversation explored the origins and evolution of Alta Langa, the growth of the denomination, its strict production standards, sustainability initiatives, and future opportunities in international markets. Drink Responsibly.
