The City of Joliet has a new category on the free citizen engagement mobile app CitizenVUE. The new category titled “Americans with Disabilities Act” will provide residents a convenient way to report accessibility concerns in Joliet.

The CitizenVUE mobile app allows residents to give a brief description of an ADA issue, input the problem location via GPS, and add up to five photos per service request. Upon submission of the request, a number is generated for easy trackability and follow up with the City.
Selections under the new “Americans with Disabilities Act” include:
- Sidewalk
- Roadway
- Crosswalk
- Building
- Park
- Other
The Committee on Citizens with Disabilities worked directly with City of Joliet Information Technology Department developing the new category in the Citizen VUE application.
CitizenVUE mobile app is available for free download via Windows, Apple, and Google Play stores. In addition to the mobile app, residents still have three other options to report ADA issues to the City of Joliet including: CitizenVUE website portal, by phone, or in person at City Hall. To access CitizenVUE website portal and user guidelines visit www.joliet.gov/servicerequest
The Committee on Citizens with Disabilities Co-Chairperson, Pam Heavens, strongly encourages residents to utilize the CitizenVUE mobile app or web portal when reporting ADA issues to the City of Joliet.
