Dear District 202 Community
I want to thank our students, employees, and families, for how hard you have worked to make the first semester a success. The positive attitude and efforts of our staff have created a warm and welcoming environment for students, and it’s evident that our students have responded positively to the expectations placed on them.
Almost one complete year after the adoption of our Strategic Plan, the annual review of our plan with our community committee is on Saturday, January 27th. There has been a lot of work done on the plan and this meeting will help develop the priorities for the future. If you would like to participate, please complete the form https://forms.gle/LGAoPzK7feXQHwfy5 Completion of the form does not mean you are automatically selected as the initial committee will be given priority and based on their availability will determine the selection of additional participants.
One very visible goal of the Strategic Plan is to refine the district website to be more user friendly and provide easier access to information. Be on the lookout for our new website to go live in the second semester. We will invite community feedback on the new site after it is launched.
Even though we have had a mild winter, just a reminder that if bad weather arrives families should always plan for school to be open. District officials work with our transportation and local public safety officials to determine road conditions so that we will announce our plans as early as possible. When weather or other emergencies dictate that school cannot be open for students, District 202 may cancel school using an emergency day or use an E-Learning Day to provide our students with a continuation of learning. E-learning days are synchronous. More information is available at https://www.psd202.org/announcements/10255
Happy Holidays to all our Plainfield 202 community! I hope you can enjoy your break, spend time with family and friends and be refreshed to start the new year.
Educationally yours,
Dr. Glenn Wood Superintendent of Schools December 2023
