The White Oak Library District is hosting its 8th annual Comic and Fandom Con – Comicopolis – in partnership with the City of Lockport’s Summer Art Series, and Zombie Army Productions. The all-ages event attracts over 1,500 attendees will take place in downtown Lockport on Saturday, July 20, 2024, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Admission is FREE, and the first 500 attendees will walk away with a free swag bag!
Over 60 local artists, illustrators, writers, and vendors, will be there with unique art, comics, graphic novels, and more! Sit in a DeLorean like Marty McFly, and even enter for a chance to go for a ride! Fans of Knight Rider or Starsky and Hutch can get their photo taken with KITT or Starsky’s Gran Torino.
There will be face painting, caricatures, kids’ crafts, cosplay, food trucks, a scavenger hunt, and so much more! Don’t miss the mobile gaming truck out front, the indoor green screen photo booth, or the increasingly popular Cosplay Contest.

10:15 am – Art Jam with Justin Castaneda
11:30 am – Artist & Author Panel featuring artists Ashley Esper (Skulls & Sketches), Bret Juliano (Dust Bunny Mafia), and Julia O’Brien (Pepper Please), and authors John Avina (Avina Comics), and Steve Horton
12:30 pm – School of Rock, Plainfield
3:00 pm – Comicopolis Cosplay Contest (Register by 2:00 pm to participate)
