Downtown Joliet along the river will be rocking the Nation’s birthday early, once again! All are invited to the Independence Celebration at Billie Limacher Bicentennial Park downtown Joliet on Thursday, July 3 from 6:00 – 10:00 pm. Free admission.

Known for being a scenic place to see fireworks over the water, bring blankets and chairs for the music and 9:30 pm fireworks (set off south of the Jefferson Street bridge). Come early for four bands on two stages, food vendors and specialty vendors. A special thank you to BryonySeries (a better reading experience) for providing the kids’ games and prizes, the Joliet Fire Department for running the beer tent, the Joliet Police Department ensuring everyone’s safety and the City of Joliet for continuing this downtown tradition, bringing communities together.
Enjoy live music on the pavilion (main park north of Jefferson Street) featuring the Selectones (reggae fusion 6:30-8:00 pm) followed by the Band of Lincoln (rock and pop hits of Illinois Musicians 8:30 – 10:00 pm). The river stage (parking lot south of Jefferson Street) will feature Velvet Rose (R&B, Motown, funk, soulful blues, dance band 6:30-8:00 pm) followed by Portrait of Sound (classic rock 8:30-10:00 pm).
Parking is free around the park. Get there early to get the best spot. Please note: NO outside alcohol, NO pets and NO vendors without park permits.
