Health officials urge caution during summer gatherings
As of last Thursday, 1,162 individuals in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 131 patients were in the ICU and 33 patients with COVID-19 were on ventilators. The preliminary seven-day statewide case rate is 213 COVID-19 cases per 100,000 Illinoisans.
Free USF STEM Camp for area students
This year’s camp will focus on the environment. Participants will learn about local environmental issues, such as declining biodiversity, habitat loss, and water quality. Participants will then use science, technology, engineering, and math concepts and approaches to develop ways to tackle these issues.
