County Health officials caution residents to be aware COVID is still spreading

The health department offered practical advice to slowing down the number of cases, such as wearing masks when out in public places and be conscientious of social distancing. Additionally, they urge everyone to get vaccinated or obtain booster shots by calling the health department at 815-774-7386 for an appointment. Local pharmacies also have vaccinations, including booster shots.

Illinois to open Family Planning Clinics

“How dare the Supreme Court send women back 100 years,” she said. “I am an African-America woman in my 60s and this was something I never thought I would see in my lifetime. This was a protection for women, and it is our right to choose whether we want to carry a baby to term or no. We as women deserve to make decisions about our bodies. It will be sad if my daughter has fewer rights than I did growing up.”

Heritage Corridor Convention and Visitors Bureau awarded $1.5 million grant for Route 66

“Route 66 has been a vital job creator for the Joliet area and the entire state for nearly a century, and that is worth celebrating,” said Rep.
