Medicare updates and open enrollment seminar at Troy Township

      Troy Township and the Illinois Department on Aging SHIP (Senior Health Insurance Program) are bringing an educational seminar “Understanding Medicare: Medicare Information, Updates and Open Enrollment.” Free for all Medicare beneficiaries and their caregivers, the seminar will be presented by the Illinois Department on Aging (SHIP) on Tuesday, April 23, 2024. at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at the Troy Township Community Center at 25448 W. Seil Rd., in Shorewood.


    Ever wonder what all those Medicare parts are and what are they used for? Whether you are new to, or currently have Medicare, the seminar is a great opportunity to gain knowledge of Medicare and to learn the importance of choosing the right plan.

The seminar will cover.

  • Medicare open enrollment questions. 
  • Medicare eligibility, coverage options, etc. 
  • Medicare – Medicaid dual eligibility. 
  • Medicare Supplement Insurance (Medigap/MedSup). 
  • Medicare Advantage Plans (HMO, PPO) and the Medicare Part D plans.
  • The importance of checking your current plan and comparing it with other plans for the new year.
  • How to create your Medicare personalized account where you can see important messages.
