Over 1,000 protesters across the nation and around the world joined the National Hands-Off Rally on Saturday April 5th to protest President Donald Trump’s agenda to dismantle the Department of Education, impose tariffs, cut Medicaid and Medicare, and dismantle civil and human rights.

Low voter turnout disappoints in important local races

Voter turnout was low in Will County for the April 9 election, with only 70,254 of the 453,563 registered voters casting a ballot, but three people were reelected in the Village of Plainfield and three people were reelected in the Village of Shorewood, and all races in the Village of Bolingbrook were uncontested.

Lockport School Board Approves $3.15 Million Bid for Central Campus Improvements

The Lockport Township High School Board of Education approved a bid for the exterior envelope and masonry work at Central Campus for the summer of 2025 for a total of $3,150,000.00, with the additional work scheduled for the summer of 2026 to complete the upgrades.
