SAN DIEGO VOICE AND VIEWPOINT — Passing laws that make it harder to purchase guns by people who should not have them is not a threat to the Second Amendment right to “keep” and bear arms. It reaches a point that the people who commit these murders with guns are partners with those who refuse to pass the necessary laws to block or slow their purchase. We must start voting for people who hold office on the basis of what they do on these issues once in office and make their terms “one time” if they fail to address these issues. We can only do this using the ballot box and the ability to organize against those who are against us.

Continued food distribution in North Texas Urged

NNPA NEWSWIRE — The Howell Foundation has distributed more than 2400 USDA fresh food boxes – about 1 million pounds of food – to North Texas families since last June. Since the onset of the pandemic, the North Texas Food Bank saw demand for food double between March 20, 2020 and February 28, 2021, the agency recently reported.

Marvin Scott: Seven Texas Police Officers Fired After Death of Black Man in Jail

NNPA NEWSWIRE — On March 15, the Collin County, Texas Sheriff’s office put out a release stating, “On Sunday, March 14, 2021, 26-year-old Marvin D. Scott III of Frisco, Texas, died while in custody at the Collin County Detention Facility. Officers from the Allen Police Department arrested Mr. Scott earlier that day and transported him to the county jail. The Sheriff referred the matter to the Texas Rangers, who are investigating this death.
