$148 million returned to consumers in two CFPB actions

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau has ordered TD Bank and Navient to pay restitution to consumers and pay penalties for illegally tarnishing credit reports and illegally servicing student loans, while a recent survey shows that voters of all political affiliations support the CFPB’s crack down on junk fees, discrimination, and other harmful actions from financial firms.
