In celebration of Black History Month, Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant has announced the Will County Leadership Series. Throughout February, community leaders will be highlighted and sharing their thoughts on the importance of recognizing Black History.
County Executive Bertino-Tarrant thanks these leaders who have stepped forward to share their thoughts. The first leader to be featured is Michelle Stiff, Director of the Workforce Services Division of Will County.

OP-ED: Medicare Restrictions on Obesity Care Perpetuate Harmful Stigmas
NNPA NEWSWIRE — Not only does obesity impact 1-in-3 Americans, it also takes a disproportionate toll on communities of color since almost half of Black Americans are living with obesity. Obesity is also a leading risk factor for COVID-19; 78% of people who were hospitalized, placed on a ventilator, or died from the pandemic were overweight or living with obesity. Dr. James E.K. Hildreth, Immunologist and White House Covid-19 Task Force Member, to Receive 2021 NNPA National Leadership Award
