Dear EarthTalk:  Why is sea level rising more in some regions—like the U.S. Southeast—than others? Is there a way to reduce sea level rise in certain specific locales? – C.T, 

Sea level rise is a pressing global issue, with the U.S. Southeast experiencing higher rates due to thermal expansion and the redistribution of water from melting ice sheets, and governments can implement policies to promote sustainable practices and fund infrastructure projects to help combat the impacts of rising seas.
