City of Joliet Planning Study for I-80 Des Plaines River Bridge Area held 1st meeting

The City of Joliet, in partnership with IDOT, held a community meeting to discuss the I-80 Des Plaines River Bridge Community Plan, which will determine how $3.5 million in state funding will be used for community improvements in neighborhoods affected by the I-80 bridge replacement project.

A brutal bill cuts CFPB funding in half as new student loan limits add to consumer financial stress

The One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) was signed into law on the nation’s 249th birthday, adding $3.3 trillion to the national debt over the next 10 years, cutting funding to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and making the tax code more complicated and less fair.

Illinois Rock & Roll Museum to Honor Chicago Blues Legends in Hall of Fame Ceremony

The Illinois Rock & Roll Museum on Route 66 will hold their combined 2024-2025 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at the Rialto Square Theater in Joliet, featuring live performances from several artists and the induction of several Blues legends, including Willie Dixon, Little Walter, Howlin’ Wolf, and Bo Diddley.
