Illinois Supreme Court decision rejects Bank’s attempt to obtain refund from Joliet of $6 Million in Property Taxes on Evergreen Terrace

“This ruling is a literal fiscal bonanza for taxpayers,” Glasgow said. “The Supreme Court’s decision means that the City of Joliet is not required to reimburse MB Financial Bank, which owned and operated Evergreen Terrace during the pendency of the condemnation proceeding, for the property taxes the bank was legally obligated to pay.
