Forest Preserve’s ‘Buzz’ nature show expands to larger TV audience
“The Buzz,” the Forest Preserve District of Will County’s monthly nature show, is expanding to a wider audience.
Starting in February, “Buzz” episodes will be featured on WJYS, a TV station that reaches more than 1 million people in Illinois, Michigan, and Wisconsin. The February episode will air on WJYS at 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25, as well as noon Saturday, Feb. 26. The show’s inclusion on WJYS is being funded by The Nature Foundation of Will County.
Senior citizens can take advantage of state Tax Deferral Program
The Illinois Department of Revenue highlighted the Senior Citizens Real Estate Tax Deferral Program which allows qualified seniors to defer all or part of their property taxes and special assessment payments on their principal residences. The program, which works like a loan, allows qualified seniors to defer a maximum of $5,000 per tax year (including both first and second installment payments).
The ROXY to host third comedy benefit for Royal Family Kids Camp
The Well Versed Comedy, Gifts for Glory Ministries, Thrive Church, and the ROXY Event Venue brought two comedy shows in 2021 to benefit Royal Family Kids Camp (RFK) in Lockport, Ill., and were able to raise over $1600 to give towards the camps for children in the foster care system. This spring, the third show on April 29, benefitting RFK is going to be bigger with the addition of featured comedian Tracy DeGraaf, who will perform as well as Well Versed Comedy, according to organizers.
